12 string rick string height

12 string rick string height

i have both 6 and 12 string versions of the 350/v63 and i cant get the action on the 12 string nearly as low as the 6 string. is that normal?

Mike, please clarify your question by telling us what is preventing the action to be set low: strung buzz, strings hitting the tops of the pickups, etc., and whether the problem is on both the low and high sides of the fretboard.

This is still a somewhat vague description.Buzzing Where? Aall over the fingerboard, or in specific places[like 1st 5 frets?]If that's the case, 2 possibilities; nut maybe cut too low, or a bit of backbow in neck, and rods need to be loosened.

maybe ill take it to my luthier for a good pro set up

Mike, we (as a group) could diagnose the problem if we had more information. We aren't being nit-picky, it's just that there are a number of factors to be considered, as Don alluded to.

i understand and i definitely appreciate the help but sometimes id rather leave it to a pro. the guy is very good.

i assume that the action should and could be as low as my 6 string right?
