Steve,

Did you pay $650.00 for both the amp and the cabinet? If so, that was a STEAL!!! Image

Yes - that was for both. I paid and got it out of the store quick, just in case they screwed up the price! Image

The amp alone should go for quite a bit more than that.

Hey Jeffrey.. have you ever used any pedals in front of your WW? Just curious to get your impressions, if so..

And, yeah, $650 really is the 'extra nice price' for that rig.. sheesh-a-loo.

I've been using my WW M-100 through a MM HD210 for all my gigs lately (Blues/Motown). Lightweight, plenty loud enough for stage, and killer tone.

Congrats on the score, Steve! You got a great deal!

On occasion I use a Voodoo Lab Tremolo, Aphex Punch Factory, Tech 21 GT2 and EB Volume Pedal Jr. with great results.

Update - I've been using the Walter Woods/Ampeg combo the past week on a musical gig ("Cats" - don't get me started...). I have to say that this is the best sounding amp I've ever played through! It has a presence and punch that I'm really digging. I've been using my Lakland 5 String for the job, (I would love a RIC 5 string, but, well....you know), but I may try out the Lemmy on a few numbers... Image

Walter started making his amps in '77; those 'square' ones are the earliest and he only made a few like that so this is very rare!

From what i recall, he also made a few of the square models that were just power amps, though i can't imagine going that far and not getting a WW with the pre. ..maybe they were intended as a 'slave' amp from another WW head? Either way, i gotta get one..

He made power amps versions till the mid '80s. Walter was always tinkering with his designs, especially the preamps.
