My guitar is awaiting my pick-up. I'm hopping in my car in about 15 minutes and I am off to get it! Life is good.

I knew it was you, Bill, when I saw the heading!

Congratulations.

I, too had a red-letter Rickenday. My '76 Rickenbass showed up from Scott Doseck in the same UPS shipment as the '65 FG 450/12 that I traded a refinish to Glenn Wall for. Both lovely examples that some day will receive a Wilczynski refinish.

For now, I will play the heck out of them like you plan to do with your new Rick, Bill!!!

Congrats!!!!

I must have missed this one - what the heck was Bill waiting for, a Jazz-bo?

Post pics Bill when you get a chance.

Oh and hearty congrats from me too. You must be over the moon.

Well what can I say? This 360 BBR is stunning. And it sounds and plays as good (or better) as it looks. There's a bit of fret buzz around the 6th and 7th frets on the lower strings. Is it possible this may correct itself once it acclimatizes to my environment? If not, a small tweak will take care of the problem. The action is incredible and the neck plays like a dream. And man, that smell! Now I get it. Absolutely worth every second of the wait. The guys in the shop hadn't taken it out of the box and when I arrived, they were all eager to see it. They'd been talking about it since it arrived. They crowded around and I got lots of oohs and aahs-none had seen the BBR finish yet.

I will post pics but I think I'll wait until tomorrow as I have some other commitments right now! I'm sure you all understand.

NO! I don't understand at all, but I guess I'll have to be patient.

Major congrats Bill. Will we get to see it when Howard visits TO in September?

Have fun with the other commitments. I'm betting they are 1: play, 2:play and probably 3:play more.

Enjoy!

Congrats, guys! BBR is a super finish! My 381 BBR still thrills me every time I pick it up. Funny though, no Rick-n-smell at all.
Paul, the 450/12 is truly underrated. I have a nice December of '64 model. Probably one of the first ones made. I love it.
