"Wilczynski" takes a lot of Meister Brau.

It takes a Chicagoan to understand that one...

Even after a dozen I only get to "D". Hmm. Maybe the key word for motor control here is "dozen".

Nah! My letters are just too big.

In my opinion it is a kind of silly attitude from Ric co. with all this copy right and to not allow the Fakenbachers to be sold on the eBay.
If I would not have had the chance to afford a copy in the 1970ies, when I was a kid, I would never have gone for the real thing (as already my ARIA copy sounded different than any other bass that time). Hence, it is Ric co. who is limiting their sales by their policy (maybe purposely to avoid the backlog of orders increasing?).

Ridiculous. This is one of those wacky, baseless opinions that do not require a response because common sense SHOULD be innate...

And quite narrow-minded to boot, IMO.

Why would it stand to reason that a cheap copy would increase sales of the genuine article?

If that's so, then intellectual property protection is a useless endeavor. What sense is it to buy an Alain Silberstein chronograph ($4K) when you can buy a lookalike copy for $200?

So, the real manufacturers then become the R & D departments for the knock-off artists.

Until they go under in the flood of knock-offs with no enforcement of laws.

Erm, thanks Gordon. I have no intention of clearing you up (whatever that means). Perhaps this struggle with english explains why you have not understood the sentence I wrote.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt in your response to what I posted for 2 reasons:

1) I'm guessing you are based in North America and don't actually have any frame of reference or experience in the matter I was raising (just to help you out, I was talking about Rickenbacker dealers in the UK)
2) You are brand new to the forum and haven't figured out that most of us try to be polite at all times.

Apart from that - that was a very witty second post. Keep up the good work.

Hi Robert ..."clearing me up" just means thanks for explaining Image
I was not being unpolite ...sorry if i came across that way.
...i was thanking you

...and yes, 1) & 2) are correct and am unaware of the differences how RICs are
distributed in the UK ...thus i was asking the subsequent questions.

I have to "clear up" after my kitten sometimes! (It has a different meaning here in the UK).
