Fuzz Effects?

Post by lowendbob »

Any body use them?
Any recommendations on a pedal?
I'm thinking of adding one in line with my Fulltone Bassdrive.
Buy it before someone else does.

I use to own a english muff'n. More of a tube overdrive but fuzzed up pretty good when cranked. It holds the low end better than a big muff too.

I use a Z.Vex Woolly Mammoth sometimes. Pretty extreme, has an interesting "pinch" control that also works as a noise gate - the silence between notes is eerie!

I've tried a number of overdrives, but never found a setting I could use.
I did find them great for getting a big "WTF?" look from all my bandmates when I kick it on! Image

Don't use any effects, only the Rick growl. It's enough to scare the s**t out of anyone!
What d'ya mean... the bass is TOO loud!

I just love the sound of a Ric bass with distortion added ... like old Yes and old Rush ...
