Registering With The Rickenbacker Forum

Post by admin »

Just a reminder, that your first and last name is required when you register with The Rickenbacker Forum. Applications that do not meet this standard are deleted from the queue.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Well said Peter. One of the joys of this forum is that you are talking to real people with real names, not some made up flight of fancy which seems funny or relevant at the time!

I am convinced that this is why our forum is so friendly & why us forumites are so keen to meet each other via confluences etc. Real friendships are made here & for that, you need real names....
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

Yeah, but, in their profile, some people won't say how old they are. I don't care if you were born before the dawn of the electric guitar - I'll still talk to ya' !

Some of us are sensitive about certain issues.

That's why I left "hair color" blank...

I've heard the people who don't put down their ages are pre-teen punks.

As opposed to those of us who are considerably older punks.
This is off the record

Interesting theory... Anyway, putting down the age in the profile for such an addictive forum creates a trouble: you are supposed to edit this field every year!Image

I confirm that I am not a pre-teen punk, or a teen punk.

I don't remember filling out any of that. I'll have to go back and check.

Peter - are you going to clean up any "non-conforming" registrations that have slipped through? I seem to recall a poster who just went by "Timothy".

Well... I'll be the lone dissenter (no surprise) and comment that I think it is a bad idea to reveal personal info and IP addresses in an open forum. It leaves us open to attacks and stalking (real world and cyber) by non-like-minded people.
Listen to that sustain!

Hey Paul...you shouldn't have left "hair color" blank...you should've typed in "Blank"...it's the grooviest hair color I've heard of in a long time.

I distinctly remember last year going to all the trouble to make hair and eye color jokes on my profile, only to find that they weren't published...but now I see that they are. This Age of Information stuff is moving so fast it's makin' my head spin...
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...
