A while back, I purchased a 3-way power splitter for my car. It's male end goes into the cigarette lighter, and is splitted into 3 female ends. It was okay, but the male end of the splitter wasn't quite strong enough to stay put in the lighter. (I use the splitter for my radar detector and my CB radio, BTW.)
So, today I go to my local Radio Shack to replace it. I got one which looked to be a lot better. I plug it in, and stays put! Allright. I then plug in my radar detector and it powers up. Great. I then plug in my CB radio. Nothing. No power. After stripping one of the lead wires to the radio and refastined it, I directly plug it to the lighter itself. It powers up from there. Then I try my splitter, and the same thing happens. The radar dector powers up, but no CB radio. Now, I can't take the splitter back since this local Radio Shack is closing and is not taking refunds. What am I doing wrong?
