4003 Trussrod nut sheared off!

Well that's it. My Rick is back to it's best, in fact even better than when I bought it. I've had no problems with the neck. And it is flat as a pancake. The action seems to be a lot lower too.
That was the worst 2 weeks of my life. These new rods are spot on and adjustments are a breeze.
A big thank you to Ted Staberow, Mark Arnquist, Jeff Rath and all the other people who showed interest and at times a soothing voice in the midst of all my problems.
This forum is a superb place to swap stories, problems and fixes. Long may it continue....
CHEERS!!!!!

What d'ya mean... the bass is TOO loud!
Hi Jack and Ted. Thanks. I've been playing my Rick non stop, getting my eye back in so to speak!
Jack, I'm sure your bass will come back refreshed and better than ever. I didn't realise truss rods could have such an effect on Ricks. The excessive masking tape didn't help either. Smacked wrist, RIC!!!
Cheers back at you, Ted. Thanks for all your advice and e-mails. Certainly helped.
It's great to back in the saddle. Got a practice tomorrow. I know our guitarist and drummer will be happy to have the Monty back. Our sound has definitely missed the extra oomph!!
Thanks again to everyone. Best wishes to all of ya...

Wasn't I? Now it's up and working, how could I sell it. Me and the Beast have made a connection emotionally and tonally. I'm glad everything is Montezuma Brown coloured in my household.
How can a lump of wood and metal get under your skin so much? I see now why this forum was set up. Full of raging Rick addicts getting their fix.
Power and peace to all of you!!!!

Thanks Gary.
Had a practice with my band last night and the Rick sounded awesome. It was so good to play it LOUD!
The guitarist and drummer mentioned that we had our sound back. Smiles all round. The bass guitar is definitely the heartbeat and centre of any band.
Everything is fine and the patient is all better.
Big thumbs up to everyone....

Glad to hear it Mark. My heart went out to you as I read your harrowing adventure.
It's a real pisser when something bad happens to your favorite bass. It's very difficult to look forward and wait for a solution as you did.
Couple times there I thought you were going to set her on fire! Well done!
