ASIA to reform for a 25th anniversary Tour !!!

Sorry guys but I had to put it here as I just learned ASIA will reform ( Downes, Howe, Palmer and Wetton ) !!!

John Wetton has always had great Tone and I admire his playing style. I hope these concerts will be recorded cause I think they will not come to Canada anytime soon.

I saw UK in 1977 with Bill Bruford, Allen Holdworth, Eddie Jobson and Wetton, unbelievable band live. Still have the album.

I saw King Crimson with Bruford and Wetton about 74/75 ... awesome ...and Robin Trower opened for them ...

I don't remember the time frame, but when I saw ASIA at a little place called Chevy's on Long Island, Steve Howe was with them.

I'd wouldn't mind seeing Carl Palmer live.

John Wetton has always had great Tone and I admire his playing style.

Er, don't expect the Fender Precision days of the 70s and 80s.

He'll be playing one of his awful Fernandes basses, which he unfortunately endorses - they sound rubbish.

Just watch his latest DVDs...

His Tone with UK is absolutely fantastic !!!! I hope he will bring the P Bass and same rig with him and not the Fernandes, which in my opinion are not to the level of the P Bass or any Rickenbacker out there.

Jeff, I saw that same tour in Phoenix...where'd you see 'em? Or have I asked you that three times in the past year...

It was Strawbs, Robin Tower, Crimso and (last-'n'-least) Ten Years After when I saw 'em...105 degrees outdoors in June '74...

By the way, a brilliant young keyboard nerd I know caught wind of my Suburban Prog band, "Englewood, Lakewood and Parker", and told me he'll be Keith Englewood...now I just gotta ask my friend John Henry to be the testosterone-addled tempo-rushing Carl Parker, and we're practically ready to book gigs. I'm currently honing my Greg Lakewood 'playing, drinking sherry and cursing at the drummer' chops...and practicing phrases like "ties a rope to a tree and 'angs the u-u-u-niverse" in the most Spinal Tap cockney I can muster...(note to self: hit thrift stores and find oriental carpet)...I'm dead serious about this...

Yes he did have great tone back then, I have all the King Crimson albums with him and I think they're the best, the tone on those albums is awesome.

Yep ... Wetton really got some great mids out of that p-bass ... and he knew how to get a grinding distortion as well ... great player with great tone ...
