I have an opportunity to get this bass. Can anyone give me an approx. date based on these photos? No jack plate exists. Photos do not show it, but neck is twisted badly and fretboard is separating from neck.
"Freedom of expression is important, but I have learned that people want to know how much you care before they care how much you know." The only time a bass player gets noticed is when he stops playing.
Wow you guys are fast and good! I have never owned a "vintage" Ric before but I have learned that the caps, tuners, pickup spacing, inlays, etc. can ID a year or set of years. So, I guess I took the proper photos.
The bass in not currently in my possession. I found it rummaging around the back storage room of a local music shop. The shop owner believes from memory that the bass used to belong to the local high school many years ago and he remembers trading a P-bass for it in the late 70's. He forgot it was even back there. What you see in the photos is all there is - no bridge pickup. I have not talked money with him yet but I know he will not let it go too cheap. He is so tight, he squeaks when he walks!
