Finally got to try some Rics

Post by shamustwin »

Miracle of miracles! Stopped by the So. Bay CG, and in addition to the used (1990) 360, they had two new 360's. 6 & 12 on the floor. "360's our specialty", I guess. Tried 'em both. Of course, being floor models, the Made in America stickers were being peeled off. They felt great. 12 (in FG) neck too narrow for my big hands, 6 (in JG)was nice. Didn't have a lead guitar feel, though. Also felt the JG wasn't an attractive color for that particular model (sorry JG 360 owners). I really want to try the 6 series. This weekend I'll try a couple other shops in search of. Word is they're good for leads, and the 660/12 has a neck that'll fit my hands. Big hands is why I initially played bass (2 Rics, a Hofner and an Alembic in my collection). BTW, every time I ask to see a Ric, the sales kid usually gives me a look like "Why, dude?"

Rkbsound 0,

forget that, why is your response to my message time-stamped 31 minutes before my post time? Are you psychic?
BTW, I just prefer FG, no offense!

Yes Jerry, the time warp was noted. Mr. Phelps and his IM Force posted shortly after noon on May 6, 2003 and you posted later the same day just before midnight. Difficult to claim a premonition then.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I still haven't seen a midnight blue finish in person, but I really hope I do sometime. The Burgandy finish in person is fantastic, if you ask me.

I'm an equal oppertunity person on finishes - 3 Rics so far, and one MG, FG and JG.
