Email notification of replies

Post by nattiep »

I get these to see who answers me and such.. but the emails I get to tell me switch from my inbox to my bulk and back again. It bugs me sometimes, because I think I might have stupid spam and then it turns out to me something important. Is there a way to keep it in one box or the other, or does it have to do with the auto reply system thingy?

I use yahoo BTW.

Lee,

Contact Peter, he has to make the change for you.

Nate I have no idea what the answer is to your problem. Sorry.

Well... my "idea" would be: find something better than yahoo!Image

Yahoo's spam filters are not very user-configurable. I don't use this site's email notification thing; what are the header contents? Is it a notifier from this server or is it an auto-generated email from the person responding to the thread?

If the former you SHOULD be able to use the "Not Spam" button to tell Yahoo that emails from that domain are, you know, not spam. If the latter then you are stuck with "Not Spam"ing every friggin' email that comes in from the folks who post here.

Spammers spoof the return address ... so when the spam gets bounced it goes to the spoof return address and not the spammer ... so some spammer is putting your address as the one that sent the spam email and you are getting the bounced returned emails ... bummer ...

most of the emails sent in any one day are spam ... it is a mess ...

Never assume that an email gets there ... anything important send by registered snail mail ...

Strange as it seems, i rarely get junk mails, & my mail provider is considered to be one of the worst by general public here & i never hide my email address...

I'm betting that that opinion is based on forged return addresses on spam e-mail and is thus faulty.

Most of the spam I get comes from Asia, usually some part of "Chinanet" or "Kornet" space. I determine the source from the IP address cited in the full headers, not from the (usually forged) return address.

Well, it's not that simple, Gary. Yes, there's a good spam guard & the messages are all checked by Kaspersky antivirus, but: a) a small box (25 Mb); b) since Jan 30, 2006, most of my messages destined to US, Canada or Oz, return in 10 seconds - UK is no problem, on the other hand. Gee - even my letters to my Mom return, isn't it funny?!
