Tom Petty 660/12

Post by dragon1952 »

This Ebay auction just ended with no bids. I know the Buy-It-Now of $3200 was too high but was the opening bid of $2200 too high also? I was really watching this one...probably wishful thinking though.

Probably a little high to get a lot of bids for openers, but a little under value for a good 660TP. I have one in jetglo which will be hitting Ebay Australia sometime soon and I'll be looking to get around $3000 Aussie dollars - about US$2270.

That's good news for Howard.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I'm happy to sell to the US, UK, Canada etc, or is Howard looking for a 660TP?

Wha????

Sorry, Lee..... I have to stay "off the market" until I get back from my trip. I'm sure it's a lovely guitar and I'd really like to go for it but I have to make sure I've got enough in the kitty to shout my O/S hosts a burger and a beer! Image

That was a sweet guitar. Did you bid Rob Wilgus?

No Dave Watson....it's all yours bud! It's back out there with a Buy-It-Now of $3000 and opening bid of $1800. That baby's got your name (and Tom Petty's) written all over it!

BTW, remember when you were first looking for a Ric and I suggested the 12 string? I believe you cited the pending string changes as being too labor intensive? Well after my first 6 string restringing experience I might tend to agree. I've seldom felt so inadequate, clumsy, stupid and frustrated all at the same time Image Kind of like the first time I played my bass with the two finger plucking method now that I think about it Image

That's cool Howard. So, how many new Rics are you bringing back with you, or have you been able to resist temptation entirely?

That guitar at the right price and I could get past the restringing issues. I sort of had that money earmarked for a vacation. Silly me.

I see bidding's at $1,800.00 this morning at 0 bids. That one seems to lasted longer than most. It's haunting me!

I know. I'm not worthy here. I forgot my eBay password or I would have placed a bid early this morning. I glazed over looking at it on the screen and had to turn the computer off.

Vacation temporarily intact...

I'm only bringing one back from the US, Lee - a Montezuma Brown 330. Well...... that's the plan, anyway! Image

I've been seriously eyeing this one, too. I've been lusting for a TP since back when they sold for $1400 on Ebay. I get to deposit a big refund check on Tuesday but I don't know how long of a hold the bank will put on it (lol).
