Politics, Religion and Sexuality

Post by admin »

Now that I have your attention please note that these areas are not acceptable on The Rickenbacker Forum and will be deleted.

From the first page of the Forum
The Rickenbacker Forum was created to foster public discussion with respect to Rickenbacker instruments and related musical topics. It is not affiliated with Rickenbacker International Corporation. Those posts that are considered to be rude, offensive, off topic, nonsensical or deemed inappropriate for this Forum, or that show apparent disrespect for others, including RIC and its employees will be edited or deleted at the discretion of the Webmaster. Topics focusing on religion, politics or sexuality are not permitted on The Rickenbacker Forum and will be deleted.
Many great threads have been deleted entirely due to people who have hijacked topics to serve their own agenda or state of mind. In these cases everyone loses the benefit of the information as it is too time consuming to edit the topic to set things right again. It is discouraging that it is often the same people involved in this practice.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

It bears repeating, to be sure, Peter...I'll own up to my share of guilt, and apologize for what must seem to you to be the thousandth time...

I must say, though, that I feel somewhat singled out by that 'nonsensical' rule...

I feel a bit uncomfortable since i don't remember when - if ever - a sensical topic came from me... but i'll try. As far as PRS is concerned - i promise.

I don't really recall ever seeing anything remotely resembling religion or sexuality on here, though politics stuff comes up from time to time. I think in comparison to some other forums on the web, Peter does a top notch job in keeping this site going and running smoothly and keeping everyone happy. I think he deserves some thanks from all of us. We should get him something for his birthday one of these years. Maybe a Rickenbacker T-shirt or something when they become available again?

I think a great deal of credit should go to us, the forumites, as well. For the most part, we know the boundaries and we know why we're here - mostly to talk about Rickenbackers, the people who use 'em, and sometimes other types of guitars. Very, very rarely is that strayed from.

Oh, don't worry, Greg...there have been plenty of violations of the S & R rules, too...it's just Politics that tend to produce threads that go on and on and on without getting anything accomplished...

Another birthday gift suggestion for Peter, and one that a friend gave me for my most recent one: an official United Nations shot glass...

as per recent topics and recent postings and various other things I am rethinking my participation here ... maybe there are other more important things for me to do ... somebody got me so mad that I posted several things in anger ... and that is not my style ... so I need to re-examine my priorities ... in the grand scheme of life there are things more important ...

Jeff,

To my knowledge, no one has ever criticized you for the work you do on your basses or even remotely suggested that it was illegal. I prescribe a short break. You'll be fine in the morning. You can thank me then. LOL

Peace brother, as our good friend Dane might say...
