"Freedom of expression is important, but I have learned that people want to know how much you care before they care how much you know."
The only time a bass player gets noticed is when he stops playing.

OK.....
My comment was not to labour a point on the colour change (and it's nothing to do with my other Ric! - I let that drop a while ago and have gone radio-silent on the matter!), I just like my BB very much the exact colour it is and would be a little upset if it changed colour. If it does change, I'll live with it.
I imagine I've been quite lucky for it not to have degraded at all after 4 years!

My BB arrived today.... My first ever Rickenbacker.
When I ordered the bass over the phone from a store in CA, I asked if it was blue or mint, and the guy said it was blue, but with a hint of green (barely perceptible) on the edges. Well, upon excitedly opening the case I found that I have a full blown Mint Boy. At first I was quite disappointed , but within about an hour I was actually very happy with the color. There are still some places where there is a HINT of blue, and there are places where the clear coat is darker making it appear to be an old instrument although I was told this bass was in it's case for the past year.
I love the sound of the bass, and LOVE the mute feature. I'm not here to rag on Rickenbacker, but I have to say it is a bit disappointing that this new bass (I won't bring up how much I paid) didn't even make it to it's first owner without changing color.
