"it's just so gradual that you haven't noticed it and you don't have a point of reference. Use it in the sun or fluorescent lights and it will change even faster."
I was told by the store where I bought my BB that it sat in it's case till I bought it last week. How do you explain my BB turning Mint just from sitting in the case? It's build date was june of 2005 according to the paper work that came with it. I know a finish will yellow over time, but to turn so drastically in one year is very extreme... and dare I say lame.
I'm not trying to stir things up, but so far I've gotten 2 different explanations from Rickenbacker... which leaves me to wonder if someone is trying to cover their a**.
I'm trying to be open minded about this, and am learning to like the green, but I'm concerned about the unevenness of the finish and the build up of 'clear' coat in certain areas... it kinda makes it look amateurish. Perhaps if this wasn't my first Ric it wouldn't be such a big deal, but I waited 30 years to get this and to have it be such fiasco is just a wee bit disappointing.
