I'm wondering about the logistics of flying with my Rics.... I have a flight case that will fit my 325, but I would also like to take my personal favorite (anyone wanna guess?), which only fits in its own case.... Will a regular locked Ric case (and its precious cargo) survive the rigors of airport baggage handlers? I sure don't want to have any regrets connected with this trip!

Melissa-
My better half is agent for a major airline. I've heard and witnessed the worst of horror stories.
Unless the bag is a ATA spec AND fully insured, I would NOT send it through baggage.
Depending upon the configuration of the aircraft you fly, the bags are sorted and loaded into 'cans' (the containers that fit wide-bodies) or hand loaded by ramp crew into the cargo area.
My "toys" are required to be locked after TSA inspection, then are placed into another ATA case. The only problem is if it gets lost-then ya only get $600/bag (if flying coach).
You get better odds in Vegas!
IMHO
