For all that Peter does!

Post by lowendbob »

I can't ever remember what I'm about to say being discuss before, and I have been meaning to bring this up for some time.
We all love this forum, and Peter has never asked anyone to help pay for the cost of running such a fine website. Most other forums ask for contributions, or pay for premium membership to post for sale items.
To run a website, it not only takes time, and dedication, but there are cost involved.
Maintenance for the server, the electric cost, cost for hosting the website, backup media, extra storage, etc.
I'm not sure Peter would except any donations, but I think it would be a fine gesture on our part to make donation and give Peter a hand, plus show him our appreciation.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

Thanks Peter for your devotion and keeping this site up and running, and all your hard work! Image

I second that emotion. I will contribute whatever Peter feels appropriate.

...I too agree, one may suggest I get a life, but I check in here everyday and I find it the greatest bunch of folks...I'm in for an honourarium to Peter as well...heck, he asks for nothing and gives a great deal.

To be honest...I don't know how he does it all or how he manages to pay for hosting the forum. Without assistance from advertisers or any apparent sponsorship it must be tough.

Thanks Peter, how can we help?

I don't know how this fund raiser could get organized, but if Peter has a Paypal account whom ever would like to contribute could simply send him a Paypal.
I think if we all can afford RIC instruments we could certainly throw some funds to Peter even if it turns out to be a one time effort.
Any thoughts or ideas?

Paypal works for me, or I can send a check or heck, I'll come by his house and deliver it in person!

I don't know why I love this sight. The passion of the Rick lovers, the participation of the company's CEO and Ben and Kenny, the insights from Paul and Dale, the interesting pics, the funny icons from Aitch, Melibee's enthusiasm, waiting for Sheena to get her Rick, waiting for ANYBODY to get their Rick, the decency of all the posters, heck even the occasional verbal fisticuffs between Dane and Brammy...

It all makes this the first and last place I visit every day. And in my job I spend a LOT of time on this miserable computer. Thanks to you all, and thanks to Peter for making it all possible.

Count me in for contributing.

I agree wholeheartedly.....

This has been raised before, but nothing concrete happened. It would be nice to make a small gesture for all of Peters hard work & dedication & for all the pleasure that it brings to us folks in Rickenland....any ideas?
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

I'm very happy this site is totally free of sponsor banners, and I hope it stays this way. I prefer donations over sponsorship. It is so nice to see a site like this being independent, even though it (kind of) promotes a specific product or brand of musical instruments. If Peter would let his PayPal account address become public in a discrete way, I'm sure forumites would chip in. I would. Thanks Peter!
