I'm all in for making a donation to the forum's host and webmaster. Who knows, a donation at this time would help defray some of his expenses for an August trip to California.

In the past i've offered to help Peter with his costs by offering him a donation (to help support the site).

He is a very proud individual and respectfully declined my offer. I'd like to give back something to him, for all I take from his site.

Bob and all: I want to thank you for the very warm and most kind sentiments expressed here. It is this "big heart" that makes The Rickenbacker Forum what it is, a place where people generously share their knowledge and feelings about their journey in life in general and Rickenbacker in particular. Each one of you has just given me the best reward there is, the recognition that my efforts are appreciated.

My "strange silence" is really because I am somewhat embarrassed by the notion of accepting funds for pursuing my passion which is having a dialogue with others about Rickenbackers and related music. I am also mindful of situations in which forum participants have given in the past and the fact that such generosity sometimes turns out badly. Just in passing, I have cancelled my PayPal account as I do not trust this system and frequently got bogus emails concerning my account that looked "all too real."

I confess that financial limitations make it difficult to keep archives and as such I am currently trying to compile a "best of" section to put years of valuable material at our fingertips once again. I am also involved in updating the Registry of Rickenbacker instruments but this is moving very slowly. There are so many projects, however, that it is not possible to keep up. I cannot believe that this forum will soon be six years old and that I read comments from all around the world daily.

So thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your kind offers, but I feel that it is easier for now to just leave things the way they are. Jangle on one and all!

This is a wonderful site, and I am sure that should Peter ever feel the need for help, many would offer.

Personally, I would like to see the archives converted to a disc format and offered for sale to those who are interested. For those of us with long memories, and who were around back in the day, 5-6 years ago, there is a huge amount of information that I would love to have access to.

I learn so much here everyday that I really wouldn't need an archive disc...

We are here because of a common love; I feel like we are a family in a sense, where help is just a phone call or e-mail away. I do not neccesarily feel this in other forums I take part in, so just say the word and I know we will be there for you!

Yes Peter, I would gladly pay for an archive disc or two, there is a lot of stuff I would like to reread, lots of lost wisdom. There used to be many tips on fixing and setting them up that has been lost. I pored over the archives in Lima Peru when I was new here. There were many many tips from both JH and Mark on how to tame these beasts, especially the old ones. I wasn't here when it was created but remember many posts that went back to before you had to register here, some were two years old in 2003.
I myself have often wondered how you keep up especially since it has grown so much in the past few years.
