The legend of the Red Rick

Post by gretafish »

It sounds like total BS, but there is a Web site called www.bluesband.com with a story about a red Rickenbacker bass that is supposedly cursed. It's called The Legend of the Red Rick."

Like I said, has to be total BS, but worth the read.

They could have made up better stories and made it more Spinal Tapish. The red Ric in the picture is a 4003 with black hardware was not around in '69.

All you really have to do is have Paul W convert one of those ugly red ducklings to a beautiful abomination, thus breaking the curse and allowing you to play something ultra-bitchin'.

See? Everybody wins.

Which is beautiful.

Kind of reminds me of Aphrodite's lock legend...

As I said in the other thread devoted to this subject, that was a marketing (Ad Ranch does branding) company that wrote that story.

They have intentionally tried to create an urban myth. Wacky stories sell and are repeated or passed on and if a brand is present, the brand is remembered.

LAAAAAAAME!!! I also like the way they don't go into any level of detail at all...really helps out the story in the credibility departement.

There was once this guy! And he went to this place! With some people! And they did some stuff! And then he mysteriously died! HOW WEIRD IS THAT?!!?

On a side note, is it a serious problem that when I typed "?!!?", I immediately thought "2112"?

Ted, you need to unload that thing ! Or you could just put it in the closet and sit the 4080 on top of it - that ought to keep it under control.
Is everybody ready?
