Ebay 4001 bare bones, no hardware

Post by inhuien »

Hi y'all, Not sure if this would be anyones cup o' tea, but there’s an unusual ebay offering http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/rickenbacker-4001-bass-project-without-hardware_W0QQitemZ7422957974QQcategoryZ4713QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem . One bass with no hard ware. Any one out there with enough spare part to make this one live again.

Ciao for now, mark.

Could it could be a single truss rod faker? That cavity looks small...

He does say it's a 4001 body, would that not explain the single truss rod? However I'm no expert, sorry in advance if I'm wasting anyones time with this.

It's not the real thing.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

The front shot is very clear but the headstock route does not look right. Neither do the inlays. Other than that, it appears to be one of the better-made fakers.
