Thanks Jeff, really good advice there...! I value my bass playing at home but value my relationship more.

How about a SWR Baby Blue II combo amp? It has a headphone jack on the back, sounds great and, no, it does not come with a 4005WB!

How about a nice old Ampeg B-15? One of the original bass amps, 30 big watts, sound great, nice and warm unlike those sterile SS amps.
I have an Ampeg Bassamp 35 for practice, a forerunner of the B-15, it sounds great and looks really cool also. I have mine set up in the bedroom. When I got married, no actually when we first met, I told her I am a musician and an old radio nut, I will NEVER stop so take me as I am, haha! She took me and I put my stuff wherever I want it within reason. Oh, I have an upright right next to the amp in the bedroom as well as a Ric bass.

Back to the er um topic-
Go for a B-200R. It's not much bigger than the B100R, looks cool, and has way more thump.
I rattle all the jalousies in my house with it.

Im with John. The Ampeg B200R is great sounding straight out of the box.

The bottom photo shows the speaker connection in the back of the amp. One selection is the 15" speaker alone, and the other choice is the 15 with the 1" piezo horn. I usually dont care for horns, but the piezo on this amp really isnt overbearing.

I have an Ampeg B50-R, the biggest difference being the 12" speaker as opposed to the 15" that the 100 and 200 have. Has anyone compared the difference in sound between the 12 and 15 in these Ampegs? Is the 12 more focused, or in any way more adventageous than the 15?

Isn't the B-200R 220 watts, like the BA115HPT? That's the Ampeg I've been seriously considering. I've always liked the sound of a 15 for full range sound myself. That's just what I've been used to.
I recently went back to playing a Rickenbacker bass. Its like meeting an old friend again
