Advice on amps

I've played through the 450wt head and it sounds fine to me. It's loud, very loud, and it's gotten decent reviews. It really moves a lot of air. The cabs have gotten pretty good reviews especially the 1x15 cab. The 10's have been said to sometimes blow too easily though. I thought about trying the 4x10 combo, but the weight(103 lbs) and the 10's made me back off a bit.

I agree with Jared, but I have to say my 300 W Behringer head has been very reliable. And the last few times I've played it I've set the treble a little higher and the bass a little lower and I'm actually (gulp) liking the tone I'm getting with my Laredo MUCH better.
Can't speak about their speaker cabs, but the amp heads are a good value, as long as you don't expect it to sound like an SVT.

That 450wt head really puts out pretty good sound, and a nice solid bottom end to it. It sounded to me like an SVT 3 head. I played it through an Ampeg 4x10 Classic cab though so that's probably why. You could really feel the air move. The head I played through felt solidly built and was pretty heavy. As a budget amp it seems like a good value with plenty of power. I can't judge on it's reliability though since I don't personally own one.

If you want to try something different, the nemesis line from Eden is affordable, great tone, clarity, great EQ section, good DI for PA support. The 2X12 combo is 320 watts and gets very loud, but also sounds good at low volumes for practicing. I've also heard good things about the 2X10 and the 4X10.

I'm thinking about getting one of the new Ampeg 220 wt BA115HPT amps. The Line 6 Low Down 300 Pro is very tempting too. The price on the Behringer head and the power it has, as well as my budget limitations, make it worth considering too. As you can see, I haven't made up my mind yet. Making the final decision is half the fun!

Yeah, that much power through an 8x10 will sound nice!
What I remember of older Edens, it's a tight sound. I seriously considered an Eden 2x12 combo...but then again I don't really know what I want in an amp, so why get one? I'll just be disappointed...
I should different cabinets and see if my issues aren't more related to my 2x10...

That's my problem. I like the Ampeg(made in the USA), but I don't know if just one tube in the preamp will make that big of a difference in tone. I really need to try one out and see. I really like the sounds I've heard from the Line 6 amp, plus the effects it has. I've never tried the Eden Nemesis combos but I bet they are nice amps. I like 1x15 combos the best. The 2x10's I heard have had nice definition but not enough bottom for me personally. I wind up clipping them. The 4x10's have the bottom and the definition, but are on the heavy side. At least the ones I've seen are, with the possible exception of the Ashdown Mag 4x10. The 1x15 gives me the sounds I like.

When I was researching amps I read through about 200 pages of threads over at the Eden Forum looking for info on the nemesis line since I was unfamiliar with it. Of course there's alot of preaching to the choir over there (engage choir filter) but some of the pro musicians actually preferred the nemesis line due to its cost/performance ratio. I chose the 2X12 because of the 320 watts (more headroom than the 2X10/250 watts). Supposedly there's an insider at U.S. Music (Eden's parent co.) that's a bass player that swears the 2X12 nemesis is one of the greatest combo secret's in the amp world. I think I'm starting to believe him, can I get an amen brother!
