Faker.

I vote "Custom ruined". Why put a Floyd Rose on a Ric or any other guitar?

Despite the impediment I have as I'm a bass player, as well as the distraction that the background offers, I think it's a real good looking guitar....

Well, Sven, I guess we know your prejudices, now, don't we?

People put Floyds on guitars to go out and "dive bomb". I enjoy "dive bombing" on occasion, and have fitted a Fender Duo-Sonic with a Strat neck, active Strat pickup system, and--a Floyd Rose.

I can get sounds out of this guitar that I can't get any other way...

Oh, by the way...Sheena? Are you reading this?

My Duo-Sonic is GREEN!

Here's why I think that it is a faker. Once my eyes got past the person holding it I noticed that it has three dots on the twelfth fret and the headstock shape and tuners do not look quite right either. Does anyone with better eyesight than me see any evidence of a sound hole of any sort? I can't.

I have a MIJ Strat that has a factory installed Fender Floyd Rose style bridge on it and Texas Special pickups installed in place of the somewhat weaker originals.

It's one of my favorite Strats. I don't dive bomb very often but the extra "meat" on the bridge gives it unbelievable sustain, when required of course.

While I agree that it is a fake, it is not a typical faker with the twisted scissors tailpiece or the other features normally seen on cheap "knock-offs". I believe it was custom made to look similar to a Rickenbacker. Many people have done custom guitars like this including some of our fellow Forum members.

I agree with the opinion that it is most likely a custom-made guitar.

I took a good look in Photoshop. The obligatory indent in the tail of the guitar is not present either. Custom made or not it's not a Rickenbacker IMO, despite what it says on the headstock.

I won't tell you what else I noticed. LOL

Here's a different view of the same guitar. As I mentioned earlier it a has few features that give it away as being fake. Some of those are quite evident in this shot.

I should also mention the fact that it has what appears to be a 650 TRC on the headstock.
