I think they have a 2x12, and a 1x15 combo too.

Sorry, I misread Markbass99's post. I mistook the 2x12 mentioned for the 2x10 combo. It's been a long day.

I have separate pre-amps and power amps and am interested in the opinions of the forumites. I have both an older ART Nightbass SE and a LIne 6 Bass PODxt Pro. Any thoughts on other good pre-amps out there? What I am trying to find is one that has two channel output both for direct out to the PA and also to the stage set up for bi-amping. My ART can do this and I am seeking something newer that can do the same thing.

Any advice is appreciated.

i bought the 300 watt behringer head and made two enclosures with a 15 in each one. they measure 18.75"x18.75"x15.5" with a port tube dead center in the back. the head sets squarely on top. the enclosures are light and compacked. my ric and warwick sound great with this set up.

You know John, that piping on your Traynor really looks nice. I might have to crank out a few yards of piping and try it on mine.

Paul,
The Eden WP100 Preamp might fit the bill for what you're looking for. It's got a lot of output options.

Hey Bill,

Thanks for the input. I just found the EDEN info on line and it does have two channel output for both DI and amp use. So far it's the only unit I've seen with this.

I just saw one on ebay that I am now watching.

I just bought the Behringer Ultrabass X300 as a practice amp ( for me to learn the songs, etc. )and it is really sweet with enough power and definition to render justice to my Ric Basses. The other Behringer stuff of more power never impressed me much along ith their cabinets. I bought the Behringer BDI21 ( Sansamp copy ) and it sounds absolutely great !!!

As far as my live rig, I recently purchased the MarkBass Little Mark 11 along with the 410 cabinet 104HF. I simply swear by this rig, which is powerful, great tone, simple to use and ridiculously lightweight !!! The best of all worlds for me. Check them out, you will not regret it and don`t be hesitant to plug in your Bass, you will be surprised how good they sound !!!

Nothing sounds like an old Ampeg SVT set up.

Yes, they do sound great, but you could get a hernia moving it. Especially the old all tube heads and the 8x10 cabs. I played once with a guy that had an old Ampeg guitar combo amp. And I have to say that was one of the heaviest little suckers I'd ever seen. I think it was made out of lead! Thank goodness for hand trucks and smaller, slightly lighter amps!

Na.. you just have to move them correctly, I've been doing it for more than thirty years. The SVT set up is an all tube head and one or two 8 x 10 and was made principally from 69-79 although they made a few in Japan from 80-84, anything else they made has a prefix after it, hence is not an SVT.

Ampeg SVT-350H solid state 350W head @ 4 ohms
Ampeg Classic 4x10 cabinet, 4 ohms

I've never tried a tube head in a jamming atmosphere (just played a SVT-3 at GC) so I can't A/B them but at half the price new, the SS amp was a no brainer. For me.
