Yikes - price hikes

Post by clearblue »

I was checking the latest prices at MF and found they've raised their prices on Rickenbackers. I had saved a week old price check on the 620 and 360 and the 620 is up $250 and the 360 is up $300.

Yeah, looks like they are across the board...a 330 a month ago was $999 and now its $1279.

Must be supply and demand . . . they order a bunch and sell a bunch, but never get enough from us to keep up.

If MF is to be believed, then the 360 is the 6th best selling hollowbody and the 4003 is the best selling base at the moment, so maybe they have a good reason for their price hikes.

yeah i saw that. i find that odd that a higher end bass like the 4003 would be a best seller.

usually a budget beginner's models sell way more.

Howdy,

At the risk of making myself very unpopular, I'd like to say that john Hall has been spoiling us with comparatively low prices! Perhaps the price hikes (be it from RIC or various dealers) will contribute to a few more Ricks being left for enthusiasts like us!

I can't see this as a good thing.

I think MF will see Rickenbacker sales slow down considerably. They had some of the best prices. They now have some of the highest.

Yes, the highest...

I know local dealers in the Seattle area closely monitor websites like MF for their pricing strategies, so, it seems very possible that they will in turn increase their prices as well.

By the way, we (R.I.C.) did not raise our prices.

I'm happy too. I knew it was only MF because I'd have heard it from the other (smaller) dealers.
