360/12C63 and 4001C64S
July will be the month of the 360/12C63 and 4001C64. I've never seen this many 360/12C's or 4001C's and 4001CS's on the line at the same time...
Ben, I know I may have made this offer before, but let me state, one more time, for the record, in front of God and the rest of this forum, that I stand ready, right here and now, to bear your children.
I know, I know -- I'm a guy, and it may take a little longer, but it'll be a quality kid made in the USA and well worth the wait!

Ben,
Having never been to the factory (a deficiency I'm planning to correct in August), I'm trying to picture what "I've never seen this many.." actually is. What is a lot or average number of C series instruments in production? I'm guessing this changes all the time, and varies according model, but thought I'd ask.
Forgive me if I'm raising an inappropriate question; I'm a relatively new RIC addict (one at home - a FG 360, and two on order 360/12v63 and 4003 AFG) and am still learning all the cultural decorum.

My wife just knocked me down 22 pegs, but I think that's a different forum.

Just for fun (not to mention mutual encouragement) I'd be curious to compare notes with you guys. I'm number 3 on the list at the Music Zoo, and my guitar was ordered in March 2005. I believe that the one they've been waiting for the longest was ordered in March 2003 (one would think that should be coming soon). Where are you guys in line at NCM and when did Gary order your's?

My own story is I ordered mine from NCM in early March 2005. (The e-mail from NCM acknowledging my deposit was sent Mar. 7, 2005, at 9:57 AM, but I'm not that anal that I keep track of these things. Ha.)
At the time, Gary said he had 45 of them on order with a waiting list of "well over 30 people", so I'm assuming I started out somewhere between 35-40th on the list. And Gary was incredibly honest with me before he would take my deposit, by saying that I would have a long wait, perhaps 10-12 months or more. That's one of the reasons I'm a huge NCM fan.
Having become a faithful follower of this forum (and now RIC's too) I soon saw that it was going to be longer than 12 months, but the people that had received theirs were so thrilled, that I sat tight. (I understand the literal German translation of the word "Rickenbacker" has become "well worth the wait" in modern usage.)
I didn't want to bug Gary with endless e-mails, and he keeps people informed of deliveries thru his own website. But I finally broke down in March of this year with an e-mail just to ask where I was on the list. He told me that I was #27 in line.
His web site said that as of 3/8/06, he'd received 7 of the 50 or so he then had on order. On Mar. 30, he posted that he'd received one more, and I haven't seen any posted since then. And this is odd, because watching the RIC shipping page, I've seen something like 3 or 4 having been "shipped" since about that time.
Anyway, I don't understand how it all works, and I ain't griping, but I'm just hoping Gary's going to get 27 of the ones that Ben sees on the shop floor in the next couple months.

Jerry,
Thanks for sharing your story; it sounds like our guitars were ordered about the same time. Based on the RIC "Recently Shipped" page, you are now #26.
Like you, I'm just sitting tight, excited about the news that so many 360/12c63s are in production, but trying to stay realistic, knowing that some folks have waited over 3 years for theirs...not to mention that this is something very much worth the wait.
I've lost track of the number of times I have bragged about Rickenbacker to people who don't even know anything about guitars. I am so impressed with their corporate philosophy, values, and commitment to excellence. How I wish that more people did business like John Hall. What other CEO would spend time getting personally involved in Forums like this one? Baby I'm Amazed...
If nothing else, I'll promise to try and keep you encouraged for however long we have to wait. It'll be worth it...Perseverance builds character.
BTW - Are you planning to attend the 75th Anniversary Celebration? I'm planning to go and have made reservations.

My story is about the same as Jerry's. I did not want to bug Gary but I emailed him and I was 23 on the list. I put my deposit on the guitar Jan 05. Jerry, I thought it odd too that a few showed up on the recently shipped list but was not reflected on Gary's website. But hey who cares. Mine is paid in full and I'm just sittin tight. I think we will get our's this summer
