Yes, it is apparently awaiting sanding in those pics.

Wow, thats pretty incredible looking. Lilac you say ????

From the pics I would have guessed maybe "Black Cherry".

Then again, its probably my aging monitor.

Yes, the photos show the bass after a pile of clear coats have been applied. At that stage, the finisher is concerned with building depth. Afterward (maybe even tonight?) Paul W. will sand, clean, sand, then apply a couple more clear coats, then sand, clean, sand, and then buff. Trust me, it will be as smooth as glass when finished.

The photos show it a bit darker and redder than it will be. Black Cherry is a good description, although in person it will be more towards a brown violet. Kinda hard to describe, so you'll all have to come to the 75th event to see it in person.

That's how I saw it. Awesome, masculine, really great color.

Yes, terms often used to describe me: awesome, masculine, really great color.

Urp. Sorry, I just had a little throw-up in my mouth there.

Nothing wrong with violet, purple or any variation of that hue. I'll be seriously thinking about getting a purpleburst on my 72 sometime this year.

"'72PB progress"

I thought someone restored a '72 Precision Bass. K[/size] Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Great job, Paul.
