Maybe I'm missing something (which wouldn't be a first), but if you use the prescribed dates for better rates at the Doubletree with the RIN promotion code, it actually costs more per night, than if you just stayed 8/25-8/28. It's like fifty bucks more per night.

You're right, Alisha, but if you read the link set up by RIC for the shindig, it says the 'special rates' are good if you stay August 23rd-29th, when actually the good rate is from the 25th -28th. I might add, at least through the Doubletree website.

This is gonna be sooooo cool!
My husband and I are interested in attending both concerts, but there is one possible hitch for us--we will be on a family vacation and will have our kids (ages 7 and 9) with us..... Does anyone know if the hotel will have on-site child care services?
....Or might there be a Forumite living nearby with a responsible teenage daughter who wouldn't mind making a few dollars those two evenings?

I have a hitch also. Was planning on flying in, taking a shuttle to the hotel, bus to the Saturday thing, but now faced with transportation all the way up to Hollywood for the Sunday House of Blues thing. Didn't figure on renting a car. Anybody out there who can lug me and the little woman to tinsel town on Sunday?

Hmmmmm....that could potentially be a hitch for us as well--I just assumed that there would be transportation to the House of Blues event.... If there is not we will need a ride too, if we can get the child care arrangements worked out....
