I am thinking of "going all black" with my '87 4003JG. I'd get the black pickguard, vintage knobs and black pup mount plate from Pickguardian.

The only thing left would be the TRC, that's currently white with black lettering.

How do I go about exchanging my TRC with the Ric factory? I could get a black one with white (or silver?) lettering? How long would it take? Do they have them made already?

Is there any limit to exchanges with Ric? If I ever sold this one and the new owner wanted to go back to original, I assume the exchange could be done again for a white TRC with black lettering?

Thanks

The is a cost associated with exchanging the TRC. Give RIC a call for the details and availabilty of black.

RIC has a black TRC that has chrome lettering that would look good on a black 4003. The exchange price is now $50.00+shipping.

Thanks Dane. I tried to call them today but they must be closed for the holiday. Nice fake Jared but I'll try to go with original as much as possible Image

The whole factory is on vacation until July 10th I think. Might be the 11th.

I think Jared's is genuine, but re-painted. Oh, and Greg, be sure to have your bass's serial number handy when you call.

Try Paul Boyer. He was looking to trade a black TRC for white on his 4004.
No matter where you go - there you are.

to exchange a TRC ... get out your passport, ssn#, birth certificate, have 3 valid Ids, tax forms for the last 3 years, your credit score number, your mother's maiden name, your pet's name, and a note from your mother ...

hehehehehe ... just kidding ....

"your credit score number". What's that? I don't have a clue what mine is and banks are bending over backwards to try and lend me money..... I really enjoy not paying interest - it's just pissing your money away.

Oh, Richenbacker.
