J Oliver Bryan, that's what I meant to say
I play thru Reissue Vox AC-30TBX with the
Holy Grail Reverb. I also have the Vox Floor
Pedal Display. What color is you Rickenbacker
mine is Jetglow but the Blueburst is a very
cool color. The music store that sold me my
350V63 didn't have any Blueburst in stock if
they did that's the color I would have bought.
Blue is my favorite color.

Lou sounds like a pretty ideal set up. The AC-30TBX reissue sounds loads better than the new CC amp which I think sounds a bit dull and not very pleasing.

Aha mine's in Montezuma Brown, my fave. Haven't seen any BBR 350v63s yet. Checkerout:

Rickenbacker. What strings do you have
on it? I use Rickenbacker strings 10-46
what other Ricks do you have or would like
to have? I would love to have a couple more
350V63 one in Blueburst and the other in
Fireglow. I like being different that's why
I play Rickenbackers & Gretsch it started
back in 1964.

Thanks Lou! I absolutely adore the 350v63. When I was considering what Rick to buy in '04 before MB became unavailable, the only thing I was sure of was that I wanted a 3 p'up job. At first I was thinking 340 but I wanted something small and light so I took a shot on the 350. Such a nice guitar - skinny little neck, great feel, very light, and it's a bit of a looker :-) At the time I thought it was a bit overpriced, but now I think it's a good value by any standard.

I left the stock rw's on it for a while but for kicks thought I'd try Pyramid flat 11's. They're pretty stiff but they sound great. I'll probably put 10's on next time. It's damn near perfect as a rhythm guitar (I use my 360 for lead stuff anyway). The highs shine, the lows are round and warm and crisp, and everything in between is just as pleasing. Neck-only can yield a very jazzy sound, neck+middle give an in-your-face, very balanced tone (nothing subtle about it), and bridge-only is vintage RIC all the way.

The 350 is great for other reasons as well. There aren't a lot of them about so most people are unfamiliar with them (to say nothing of getting to try before one buys). It's certainly not as well-known as a 330 or 360.

Hope you get one. A 350v63 AFG would be slick. Chris at POTR has one on order, unclaimed. You still have a few months to decide on that.

Not at all, J. Oliver, those are nice pics of some great Ricks! I love the "quilting" on the 660/12, but my absolute favorite is the 360 DG. Wow...I've never seen that color show so well on a web picture. That is gorgeous...if you ever want to sell it....

Heh BLASPHEMY! I only add Ricks to my collection, Kog ;-)

I'd never played or even seen a 360 in person when I bought that from POTR. Even though I don't have huge hands, shredding up those last few frets is an interesting challenge. The 660/12 is starting to amber nicely.

Your profile says you have 360/12s and 325s - any pics of those?

When I get a chance (if anyone is interested) I'll post what my 350 Liverpool model sounds like.

It has a HB1 in the bridge position. It's a cool guitar. I use it for lead. I bought mine from a seller on e-bay. Overall I am very happy with it.

My Liverpool is from the first year they made them as far as I know (1984). For some reason it even has the old cloth covered push-back wiring which I haven't seen in anything that new. It sounds best to me through my Korg era AC30.

Never played a 24-fret 350. Very cool, Jeff! Brian, please post away...hmm...maybe I'll embarass myself by posting some of my 350v63 sounds.

Here's some free form blues stuff, using my 350 without any outboard effects or further processing. Nothing special, but the sound bytes do demonstrate rather nicely that these little guitars are capable of being used for other genres other than British Invasion material.

I was just mucking about, nothing serious, but thanks for the kind words.

To answer your question, I used a Peavey 212 Stereo Chorus for that quickie recording.

J Oliver, nice pictures what amp are you
playing thru? Brian when you play out what
is your setup. The 350V63 is just like my
Gretsch 6128TBEE Duo Jet those two guitars
you just don't see them where I live. When
playing out people would say what are you
playing then you have to tell them and they
still don't understand. Then I say it's the
guitars played by the Beatles oh ok.

Lou the last time I played out was in 1975. Back then I played a customized stereo Les Paul Jr through two 200 watt Sunn Model T heads with four 610 Sunn Cabinets. I also used a Wah and a Roland tape echo but only sparingly.

If I played out now I would take my 1962 RI Strat, my 350, my 360/V64 and my 360/12WB along with my Peavey 212 Stereo Chorus and a Behringer Wah. I might also pull out my Boss Digital Delay for certain songs.

I would also take my Roland Keyboard and my 4003 in case I got to play those. But since I don't play out any more that was all a just if scenario. LOL
