I just received this information from someone who used to work at Electro String Corporation:

"The problem you had is due to the type of cutter used to thread the "U" shaped chassis.

The machine shop that threads this piece needs to use a thread forming tap... not a standard tap.
This will give a far superior thread cut and won't cause the screw to wobble or even strip itself out.
You can have the stripped chassis retapped with a 6/32 thread screw ... that would make it still usable. And appear to be stock.
Tapping by hand is NOT the way to do this .. it needs to be done on a mill with a slow rpm setting and forward/reverse capabilities."
Ka is a wheel.

My 360-12 WB just shipped out today from Mark Arnquist. It got the full Arnquist treatment with the rebuilt 12-saddle bridge, the wider nut, corrected intonation (which was lousy down low) plus a full-neck-width refret to give me maximum space for my big fingers. It should be awesome when it gets here and I'll post all the pics after I try it out. Check out these frets.

Greetings ---- I wanted to follow-up on this thread and advise the outcome. I just brought my guitar back this weekend from Seattle. It was repaired and modified by Mark Arnquist and he did very fine work on it. I am very satisfied with the feel and performance of my Ric. The 12-saddle Bridge was installed and the new Nut (wider string spacing) and other Arnquist modifications are the only way to go. Since I was having all this work done, I also had the High Gain pickups replaced by Toasters for the classic sound. I would recommend the Arnquist modifications for anyone seeking to have better playability and feel to their 12 string !
