Not-so-famous 50s-60s act with no chart entry?

Here in the U.S., one such act was the late 1960s band Aorta. Based out of Chicago, they had Peter Cetera as their bass player before 'hitting the big time' by signing with Columbia Records and cutting an album with James William Guercio producing (he shortly thereafter produced the band Chicago, whose bass player was Peter Cetera - synchronicity?).

AFAIK, no singles were released from that eponymous album, and Columbia dropped them. Their second album, which may have been released in 1970 or 1971 and was aptly named Aorta II, was on Happy Tiger Records, and although I think I remember some airplay, I don't think that any singles were released again.

Of course, I was a fan, and bought both albums. Ironicly, these albums bring premium prices on eBay now.

Peter Cetera was in my CD player on the way to my cabin last weekend. Man he can wail out a tune. Synchronicity? Perhaps. But the truth is I just love Chicago.

Any chance you can post (or e-mail me) an MP3 of his work with Aorta? That would be quite a treat for me.

Brian, I don't think that they cut any records during the time that Cetera was the band's bass player. If I can find the blurb I got the info from, I'll quote it directly.

He was also a great bass player.
