Put me down for 'somewhat sentient'...and the shuttle arm is a marvelously powerful and expensive version of that arcade game where you try to pick up a stuffed animal out of a big pile of 'em...

...but I'll start bein' proud of our 'fervent imaginations' when we figure out a way to start feeding 'all on the planet'...

If you are in favor of feeding everyone on the planet are you in favor of protecting them as well Dane? Just curious about your thoughts.

He don't know me vewy well, do he?

No need to drag this out...the (mercifully) short answer is: yes, I am in favor of feeding and protecting everyone...

...if only because I'm intrigued by ideas that have never been tried before...

As David Cross points out: we've put a man on the moon, now how about seeing if we can put a man in an apartment?

Making millions parts behave in unison and in an expected fashion is a tremendously hard thing to do. Getting millions people to do the same is even harder (near impossible). As a species, I feel, we have not learned a whole lot since we fell out of the tree. If nothing changes, nothing changes. I think, presently, we have the ability to do all the feeding and sheltering needed (possibly even for twice the number now on the planet). But until we learn to quit inducing suffering upon ourselves, I fear that we are stuck in our present paradigm. I think we are learning but at a very slow rate – two steps forward one step back. This should not diminish the pride we should have in our successes.

Oh! I think I know you as well as anyone who has never met you and only conversed through forums. I'm not trying to start anything. I'm not that subtle. I honestly wanted to know his thoughts. I certainly find Dane thought provoking, intriguing and in probably most cases ( I can't remember every post Image) very knowledgeable. I find his posts witty and at times, some of the funniest things I've ever read.

No harm, no foul. Just an honest question.

Would that be "The Great Dane Giveaway"?!

Oh, and Rickenbacker Basses. That should keep it on topic, forumwise.

Don't worry, Brian...I can't remember every post, either...in fact, I'm kinda fogetting this one while I'm typing it...

Not wanting to contribute to thread drift, but I do have a rather impertinent question at this point: is the 'g' in 'ugh' pronounced or merely aspirated (if I'm using that term correctly)?

Speaking of aspirating, my friend Murphy wants to play the role of The Evil Ham Sandwich in "The Mama Cass Story"...
