Newbie here hoping to soon join the Ric Ranks!!
Hi guys, I've been Gassing for a Ric for some time now and hope to have one soon. Im about 750.00 into my Ric fund and while Im saving Im trying to learn as much about Ric history as possible and this place was recommended by a guy at the dude pit. Im glad I was told about this place cause im learning a ton! There are no Ric dealers in this area so Im just having to go on opinions and what I hear on recordings. Im hoping to find a good used one on ebay or on one of these forums as soon as I get up a little more cash. Anyway I just wanted to chime in and say that what Ive read here has been a great help.

Also, if you wait a bit, RIC is changing the 4003 neck profile to the thinner 4001 style. With the newest 2006 models, you'll get walnut headwings, the vintage tone circuit, and soon the new (old/retro) neck profile. Keep saving and get one of these.
Oh, and they are planning a limited 75th anniversary color run - color not yet specified.
Welcome aboard.

Thanks for the replies guys! I checked the recommended sites and its closer to 500 dollars instead of 300 that I like before I can buy a new one. That and on top of from what I hear there is a 10 to 18 month lead time on production so I dont know if I can hold out that long. The desire to get a Ric is consuming me!!!! I find myself grabing penny's quarters, what ever money no matter how small and adding it to my stash!!

I saw an 80's JG4003 with the 2 pc guard on ebay yesterday with a BIN of $875...I think it's already gone. You could be closer to your goal than you think, and there are good deals to be found if you keep a sharp eye out and your finger on the trigger....But, it might be worth the wait for the new necked 4003 with the wings, vintage selector ect... Thanks for joining us here...it's a pretty civil group....dm
John, I bought mine on Ebay, an '02 4003 that looked brand new, hardly played. I've hardly played it, and recently had to spend almost $600 to fix the neck problems (that I didn't cause) and to put the finish back on. It's been almost 4 months since repairs began. I could have had a new one with a long warranty for what I've spent already. If you buy used, don't buy from a stranger. It may cost you more than you'd expect.
If it ain't broke, break it, then fix it.
