Wanting to buy...
What is everyone's opinion on this '74 4001.
What do you think it's worth. Comes with a heavy duty road case.

Seems to be missing the mute screws but that's all I can tell. Maybe I'm wrong....

The mute screws look to have been replaced with some kind of allen screw. My 4001MG has Grovers on it (tuners). You might want to get the serial number from the seller and run it thru the Rickenbacker decoder... looks like it is in good shape thou. Depending on price I think I'd buy it - if I didn't already have one.

Its in very nice shape. The tuners are the new Rick Schallers which should fit in the original holes and will work as good or better than the originals.
One goofy thing though...the D and G string saddles have been flipped around to allow more rearward adjustment(which is no big deal)...but all 4 saddles are adjusted al the way back and the bridge is tilted back. It might mean that someone was having a hard time getting it to intonate.

Play what you love, love what you play!
Yes I noticed that about the saddles as well.
Two should be 180 from the adjacent two. The E & A should point towards the rear and the D & G should point towards the neck. At least that's the way they are on my 4003. What style tuners should be on a '74? All of the chrome looks like it's in real good shape to me. The tuners didn't stand out to me because everything else looked as good.

So they should look like the tuners on this bass on Ebay.
