Very interesting 1968 prototype Rick on eBay....

Post by the_55th_beatle »

There's currently a very interesting prototype Rick with 'invisible' pickups (a la Fender's Marauder-model) on eBay :

The auction will end tomorrow and has currently a highest bid of US $9,100, and I wonder how much this guitar will eventually fetch...

This is being discussed in the "Rickenbackers For Sale" section.

Thanks Kris - I had not seen the thread in the 'For Sale'-section.

I went for $20K. Beautiful guitar.

Now that sounds like a lot of money and it is. But, I was in Nashville Guitar Center yesterday and in one of their small rooms where I was trying out a G&L tele through an 18W reissue marshall, behind a locked display case is a Stevie Ray Vaughn reissue Stratocaster - exact to the pits and scratches and peeling paint for, hold on now: $45K. I was in shock and you know what, it will be gone the next time I am in there.

Is that "I went for $20K" or "I(t) went for $20K"?
