Capitol U.S. released 2 distinct variations of The Beatles picture sleeves in the 1960s. East Coast: straight cut top. West Coast: dropped center "thumb tab" cut. The Can't Buy Me Love ps was released only on the east coast and in limited quantities. The "more zoomed in" photo Kris mentioned is the west coast variation of the IWTHYH ps. A mint minus condition Can't Buy Me Love ps recently sold on ebay for over $1700. Condition is everything.

I'm heading back to Boise today. Guess what I'll be doing first? I think I have all of these sleeves. I started buying them in 1978 at a little shop called "Let it Be Records" on Judah Street in San Francsico. He liked the double meaning of Let it Be...records.

I like Nowhere Man where they take the cover of The Early Beatles and chop it up to fit on a 45 sleeve. They all look like hunch backs

I used to know a guy who bought out several warehouses full of 8-track tapes in 1980. He had every imaginable title and artist on new still-sealed 8-tracks. People laughed at him, but he made a lot of money selling those off to collectors and guys who had factory original 8-track players in classic cars.

People laugh at cassettes now. I started collecting them just for fun, just the bands I like. I have three sets of Capitol Beatles issues, one of which is first issues and they're in great shape. I guess they didn't sell that well at first and the first issues (paper labeled tapes) were only sold 69-70-ish.
This is off the record
Check out this site. It has some pretty funky info about Beatles releases worldwide and how they fit albums on to 8 tracks.
