How about a 12-stringer, Sheena? Image

Dave, it's not that we don't wanna talk about your bass, we're all so depressed that none of us can step up and make a worthy offer!

Dave, sorry I helped run your thread off topic!

I don't think it is that no one is interested in it at all, just that nobody here is willing to pony up silly money for one at the moment. If you wanted $5k I'd be all over it but I'd guess you want a tad more than that so it only seems as though I'm not interested. Image

(Steve kinda beat me to it)

Ehm. I'm not sure, Steve, but i guess he'd say 12 is too many. Image
Back to topic... i really like the look, but... no more Ricks this year for us, i'm afraid.

Hey Sheena - with a little drilling you could have the only 8 string Lemmy. I am actually considering any reasonable offers before I go to eBay. I know what some people (initials E.R.) are charging and I am not looking to get that kind of money. For cryin out loud it's only a bass. However I know what the last two Lemmys sold for on eBay, so I am looking for something in that range in cash and trade with as much as possible being cash.
I am particularly fond of 4080's and 381/v69's and would favor either of those in a trade situation.
And Brian - seriously - is that a Grand National or what? It looks crazy fast.

Oh, I thought you were joking since it turned into a thread hijack!

It's an '87 Grand National 17,611 miles (for now) currently undergoing modest modifications to let it breathe a little better.....nothing drastic. It's a very clean 19 yr. old time capsule....not "crazy fast" just "quite fast". Image

How about:

'05 mint 4003 Blueburst (NAMM Model)
'01 4003 Fireglo EXC+++
'04 mint 4003 Blueboy (one of the blue ones)
'02 mint 4004 CII in Tranny Red (The very one in the RIC catalog and the care and maintenance manual) ?

Hey those are all nice basses Scott. How about all 4 plus an 87 Grand National? (You'll have to work out a trade with Brian to get the car).
Actually I would not be able to afford the insurance , so that deal would not work. A couple of those basses and some cash would be a possible contender.
Brian - would the stand be included with your bass? That would affect how much cash I would offer.

I'd offer $5000 and a few of my other 4004's but I really don't want to get rid of anything. Sorry, if this were a few months ago I'd have been more eager but I have too much going on at the moment to put $8K+ towards another Ric.

Hey Brian - you already have one of these anyway. Let's give the other folks a chance at one of the remaining 59.

It would be cool to have two though!

Besides, they had their chance in 2001 when we ordered ours for list price!

I'm going to be a heretic here...

The Lemmy's really don't do much for me. Image Yeah the carving is exquisite, but the binding and the 3 PU's turn me off.

Guess I'm better off in the bank account for having simple tastes. Image Good luck getting a buyer, Dave. Shouldn't be too hard.

I have a love hate relationship with them. I really do think their way overpriced.

But If I had one myself, I probably wouldnt think so.

I'd much rather have a 4001CS.
