My '84 WB case has a Rickenbacker raised plastic logo on it. I'd never come across this before & assumed that someone had stuck an amp logo on it, all be it incredibly neatly & professionaly. However, I noticed that the Emperor was selling a bass & the case had exactly the same logo on it.
Some one knows...what's the story?
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.
John (Mr Gravy), I doubt they'd be available separately. Given the issues with TRCs and R tailpieces requiring returns for exchanges to prevent fakes, you'd probably need to send your case to the factory for authentication before a logo could be applied!
Good point. Never thought of that. Not that I would want one on the case. It would probably just get torn off. I like the metal tag by the latch. Seems to make more sense. I know Fender used to have their logo on earlier cases.
I also have a case from an 84 4003 I used to own and the case had the same logo on it, it fell off from sliding it in and out of cars but I still have it. The Ric logo is glued on so be careful.
