Soccer Redux

Post by leesh »

I thought I was going to give up on soccer for a while but it seems on August 9th, Beckham and the Real Madrid crew (including new signing Cannavaro) will be headed to Qwest Field in Seattle to take on DC United. WOOHOOO!

Enjoy, Alisha!

Real Madrid would be 500/1 on, wouldn't they? Image

Beckham is nearing the end of his time. Too many miles on the motor...

But, he still looks good, sells lots of shirts with his name on the back and has a famous (of sorts) wife.

He'll be playing FOR DC in 3 years time...

If FIFA doesn't step into the present, and accepts that video refereeing is viable and acceptable, I think it will do itself a great dis-service, if the last world cup is anything to go by.

In one word, the refereeing was simply disgraceful in the 2006 world cup.

If you ask me "who won the 2006 world cup?" the answer from me will be "the referees".

Crouch was getting beaten on headers most of the time! That's like Jordan getting out-dunked by Muggsy Bogues.

Since I started this thread, it's time to conclude it. Fantastic game with Real Madrid and Beckham (even though he only played the first half). Sorry to hear about him being dropped from the Three Lions....but he'll be back!Image
