Ok, sorry to kinda get off topic but I'm starting to want to learn some of The Who's stuff.. any ideas? Don't say "The Real Me"; I already know I have to learn that. I want to get used to Johns's style before I go after that one.
Great Video Btw. Ox cam. hehe.

Live at leeds John Entwistle puts on a clinic on how to play over the top with a pick, a p-bass, and a marshall stack ... very cool ... quadraphenia he plays fenderbirds and fingerstyle ... it is a little more melodic and less over the top ... the Kids are alright document various stages and styles of his playing ... in the later years his playing got better but is tone was overprocessed ...
Entwistle is one of the few players who was very good with a pick and very good without a pick ...

The entirety of "Quadrophenia". You just can't go wrong with it; some of the best bass playing ever in the history of the instrument.
Also, "My Generation" is fun to screw around with, and all their really famous ones ("Who Are You", "Won't Get Fooled Again", "Boris the Spider", etc.) have great basslines. Try growling along to "Boris" while playing that little walking line he does . . . I'm convinced that Entwistle is the only guy who could growl instead of sing and make it sound good.

He used Frankenstein for that album, his pieced together P-Bass. My FAVORITE bass sond. Squire and Lee are great and all but the Leeds tone is so GUSTY and DIRTY It makes me smile everytime!
