Back to the Egg is Wings' production equivalent to Abbey Road, IMO. The recording is impeccable, making the whole album sound timeless. There is no dating of the sound, whatsoever. Fantastic production, and I think it is the best-produced Wings album.

Brian, I will e-mail you later the back story, as it is indeed apocryphal and lacks any substantive documentation.

Gary please send a copy to me too. I am interested in that story. Substantiated or not.

Gotta Love London Town. As with Back to the Egg it sounded ahead of it's time.

I've got a great scan of Paul in the studio with the Beatles during the Revolver sessions playing his 4001S, he has those goofy glasses on. Great shot. You can see John & George singing in the background. Excellent shot of the 4001 however it is in black & white. I took it from the Beatles Anthology book. I'm sure most of you have seen it. Not sure if it can be posted or not due to copyright?? If it can, I can email it to someone who can resize it and post it. Let me know.

I liked "London Town". It had some great Melodies, however, it seemed to be taken bit less seriously than it should have been. To me, "Tug of War" always sounded like a well polished version of "London Town".

Andrew, "Red Rose Speedway" side 2 reminded be more of Abbey Road. Not so much in substance but the medley portion. Just my thought.
