Newbie question ??

I’m not sure what happened. I can’t find it anywhere. I’m figuring that it was either purged or I’m in my own personal Rickenbacker Twilight Zone (interesting thought). I did do a web search and this turned up (so maybe purged is correct):

JH has said there is existing stock to last quite a while. You can order from the Boutique for $75.

AND, that $75 seems a bargain too. Strangely, they go for $89 and up on the 'Bay. Go figure. Do you suppose the 70s ones would be subject to the vintage mark-up too? I'm gonna get a new one from JH for my '78 4001 soon.

Yes I' relieved to know it works, but...

I got to the electronics shop to get one of those ``Y`` plug. Tried it with 2 small amps ( the second one borrowed from a friend ) and...well it wasnt that great ( I still couldnt get it to play with only the bridge pick up ) I'm probably doing something wrong here ( ?? )...So I re-plugged with the standard output....

Later while playing I got this ``hum``problem with the 4003...?? When volumes are cranked to the max : no hum in the amp. When volumed are lowered: a big hum in the amp (Ampeg B200R )...J bass doesnt do that. Bad cables ?? Oh, I forgot...I use a Tech 21 driver...

Any ideas or recommendations ??

Was it a stereo Y-cable? They do come in mono also. Stereo has 2 black bands near the tip, mono just one.

Marc, my ric hums if I am too close to the TV while its on.i have a B100R. other than picking that noise up my ric is quiet as a church mouse

Isn't that what happens with passive electronics? At full on, the pickups cancel each other's hum, but when you start backing off on one or both, they're not opposing anymore? Or did I just pull that all out of the air?
