Steve,

Thanks for the fine detective work.. I appreciate your attention to detail. I'm hoping that we have enough info to feel we can get moving when Paul is ready.

Poor JFK! Never got to experience The Beatles or their psychedelic guitars.

Actually, I recall reading a magazine article that speculated on whether or not JFK was the first 'Psychedelic President'. There are a number of witnesses who saw JFK smoking "jazz cigarettes". There is also evidence that he may have experimented with LSD. The CIA was very involved with LSD experimentation when JFK was in office. Had JFK lived to meet The Beatles in 1964, he might have asked them, "So tell me, are you experienced?"

If JFK actually took LSD I'm sure it was for that aching back of his. That man endured a lot of physical pain. He would have preferred the Hofner because it is lighter than the Rickenbacker. However, I think he would have left Paul's bass fireglo.

Brian: I think you're right. JFK would have played the Hofner. After I posted, I felt kind of bad for suggesting that any member of the Kennedy family might have 'experimented' with drugs or alcohol. History has shown them to be exemplary in their personal behavior and a beacon to us all. That said, I think Teddy should consider taking newspaper taxis home next time they appear on the shore...

Right! And RFK's kids were excellent examples of fighting off the evils of drugs.

I have a picture that has McCartney and Jackie O. after a concert in 1976. So their is the link.

Well, I had a nice chat with Paul today about the jobs he is doing for me and we have come to the final decision on the MMT bass. We have decided to take a few creative liberties on the back of the bass, but we think it will look great. Paul is incredibly busy, thanks to all of you. So it may be a bit longer before he gets to it. But I will update you guys on the progress. I think this is going to be a blast watching this bass take on a whole new life. Thanks again to Paul for squeezing me in and to Chris for supplying the bass.

Dang, and to think I just got drunk one night (on Shiner,of course), took some screen captures from MMT and the Anthology, and went for it.
