WHERE TO POST YOUR RIC 75 PICS!
I have gotten John Hall's permission to open a FREE Yahoo! group for the express purpose of providing a place to post our confluence pictures.
It's called "RicPics". It's no cost to anybody. This will be an historic event, and to have all of the photos in one place would keep the information concentrated and convenient, and save bandwidth here. Eventually we can open this to ALL Rickenbacker confluences, and if necessary, start a second or even third Group to handle any overflow.
At this point, I'd like to ask people to join this group, and to follow these guidelines:
1. Select a maximum of 20 photos from those you take at RIC 75.
2. Place them into a folder on the "PHOTOS" page, marked (for instance) "John Doe's Photos".
3. Any interesting Rickenbacker-related links can go into the "LINKS" section, and other stuff can be accommodated in the "FILES" section of the same Group. Feel free to submit your pics anytime after RIC 75.
This will not be an "anyone can join" type thing (there's too much spam on Yahoo!); you'll have to go to the homepage and petition to join; but I'll approve petitions on a daily basis. Please indicate that you belong to this Forum or to the RIC factory Forum.
Please do not write to me personally; it works best if you join through the Group's homepage.

A wonderful idea, Paul. I shutter to think what might have happened without this suggestion.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Hey, I just got in the mail today an old issue of Guitar Player magazine, (Feb '90, Stevie Ray Vaughan & Jeff Beck on the cover). I got it off of eBay, because it has a story called "Inside Rickenbacker" in it (bonus that I'm also a big SRV fan).
It's a small story, right after they opened their factory in Santa Ana. It has 5 pages of pictures (all b&w) from inside the factory, that are cool to see. Even one of JH himself, with Brian Carman & Dick Burke (ring a bell JH?).
Anyways, I was thinking that I could scan all of the pages in and put them in this new Yahoo! group.
What do you think?

I hate to be a party-pooper, but there are issues of copyright involved in scanning a magazine and posting it, and I'd rather not get involved in encouraging anything but original pictures.
Those posting on RicPics can retain copyright on their original photos by superimposing a typical legal line on the photo--hopefully unobtrusively, or in the caption. Still, there will be those who "borrow" indiscriminately. So be aware.
