They just played on Kimmel, live, outdoors. I had never heard them but thought I would check them out. I might have been impressed since the bass player came out with a MG Rick 4001, but then they played, and it would have sounded better if, A) they were in TUNE, and B) the singer didn't sound like Jack White.

Speaking of Jack White and Led Zeppelin, not sure if any if you heard the The Raconteurs new album. It's Jack White's side project and talk about sounding like LZ. Great album. Highly recommended and they are currently touring.

I like them OK, they're on one of the labels I work for. I think the appeal is the fact that it's '70s flavored, real wood, tube amp, analog technology & no pointy headstocks!
Sure it's pretty derivative (Sabbath, Purple, White Stripes, et al) but at least they aren't wearing masks, 6 tons of eyeshadow, crying about how mommy didn't hug them like the rest of the Hot Topic divorce rock, lame-o (er, I mean EMO) bands out there.
I'd rather see them make some coin then say, I dunno My Chemical Romance, Black Eyed Peas, (insert rap act here).
Plus he plays a Rick bass. You always get cool points for that.

Yes and when he tilted the organ on its side that was pretty cool. Chris, you've just described why I quit listening to popular music about ten years ago. And to boot, Tampa has absolutely no radio (except the NPR station and a shoestring budget community station). Barely a music scene either. If my roots weren't so deep here I would haul booty in a heartbeat.

Came across a close-up of his bass - you don't see Ricks this beat up very often:
