Glenn, I'm not sure which CoCo's it was that Adolph used to frequent, but if it's the one that was on State College and Chapman, it's gone.

If it's the one that was on Nutwood between the 57 and Placentia, it's now a Denny's. But it still has the funky big circle windows.

Hey Brad, I'm guessing it's the first. But I'm not sure. It's in one of the books I think. I remembered because I remembered the place back in the 80s.

Sounds like that chain is extinct.

Cocos: 6 blocks east of the Orange Circle on Chapman Ave. toward the 55 Freeway. Doc Kaufmann and I used to go there for lunch.

Ugh, Coco's. That place makes Dennys look like a gourmet restaurant.

I think Newport Beach or Costa Mesa would be closer.

That's a restaurant called "Spiro's" now.

Saturday Night at the Verizon Amphitheater off the 405/5 Freeways in Irvine there is a 40 piece orchestra backing up a Beatles Group that does the whole venue from 1963 thru Abbey Road

Hey Brad...That old Coco's at St. College & Chapman is about a mile from my house! Are you from around here?

Might I recommend Crab Cooker in N.B.? VERY unpretentious, but great food, cheap, and the best Manhattan Clam Chowder you'll have around here. For the steak lovers,Sid's Blue Beet in N.B. which is also very reasonable, and awesome steaks. For breakfast or brunch, there is none finer than Plum's Cafe in Costa Mesa on 17th Street..All these places(and a bunch of others)
are about a 10-15 minute jaunt from your hotel..

The Crab Cooker is really good. If anyone likes homemade pasta, I recommend the Pasta Connection on 19th & Harbor in Costa Mesa.

There is also a Crab Cooker on 17th St in Tustin. I haven't tried it yet. You guys are making me hungry. Maybe we can have a pre or post confluence meet at one of these restaurants.

I would read this thread when I was hungry ... so I went to the Crab Cooker on 17th Street and had a late lunch (just got in under the wire for lunch). Good food, but a little pricey, but then again, I haven't been to a good seafood restaurant for a while ...

Are the two Crab Cookers affiliated? I was just at the one on Newport Blvd last weekend, and it was mucho cheap..I had an enormous plate of Alaskan King Crab legs for about 20 bucks..

As for the Pre/Post eats,I believe I'd be in for that.
