Black 4003, Black Pickguard, CHROME hardware, Black nameplate, Checkerboard binding, Vintage Knobs, standard high-gains, NO inlays in the neck, maybe a toaster in the neck position though,..Rick should really look into this , seems to be a lot of frustrated players that just want to order their own personal Rickenbacker.....A lot of long time faithfull Rick users.

Mr. Hall-- I strongly assume you're taking carefully detailed notes on all of the custom shop requests and orders in this thread? ~LOL~

As for myself, my Rickenbacker Christmas wish list is very brief: Apple Corp. Green for 2004. ;-)

OK, my needs are simple (and I'd sell two of my "other" brand basses), to get get this dream bass:

1. 330 body
2. Fireglo
3. Maple neck & fretboard (bolt-on would be OK too, either way is fine with me), usual fin inlays
4. Checkered binding
5. Opps, did I mention 30" scale?
6. Pickups from the McCartney model

See, I'm easy to please!

Confiscate and burn all Black Trim / Hardware instruments. They NEVER EXISTED!!

(and I owned one, so don't go there either)

Next:

1) Sealerglo 4000 w/ Gold Pickguard, TRC, and Hardware.

2) JG 4001V63 w / Gold Pickguard / TRC. Black METAL hardware permissible on THIS CONFIGURATION ONLY! Eh?

3) I'm not allowed to mention the other one.

Garry-- Let's not be so hasty on the confiscate & burn idea! Just collect the instruments and simply remove the offending black trim; then replace it with the appropriate white trim & chrome. No need to throw out the proverbial baby with the bath water. Eh? ;-)

how about NO BINDING...I'm not a real big fan of binding on the body...binding on the neck feels real nice but,the bound body edege digs into my forearm...and nothing looks better than a 4001s or the 4004..so I'll take a 4004 5string,a 4003s w\a BLACK bound neck and ebony fretboard w\triangle inlays and chrome hardware,a matching 8-string of the above, a fretless 4003s with a graphite\composite fingerboard(no inlays or fretlines)yes, I dare to use a non-wood material on the fingerboard of a fretless Ric...all basses would be black w\chrome hardware....when can I expect to recieve them???

Don-- Then it's tempting to say that Garry's idea of "confiscate & burn" sounds more attractive. Still though, I really hate the thought of doing that to a Ric; seems unfair to hold the basic instrument at fault for being saddled with the black hardware & trim. Not like it had a choice in the decision, eh? ~LOL~

Now, if they ever decided to do a "Blackstar V63", that is, with Black-Anodized Toaster and HS, would you guys be OK there?

(cap installed- ;-))
