RickResource Forum Logo Contest

Post by admin »

The RickResource Forum is having a logo contest and so I am interested in your submissions. The deadline is the end of September 2006.

So get your creative thoughts together. I have not decided what the prize will be, but something modest will be offered. Of course, you creative work will be posted as the RickResource Forum. In the meantime, you will see a temporary logo at the top of the main page to impress upon you the urgency of creating something different.

So good luck and let's see what comes out of this. In cases of a tie, the first logo posted on this page is the winner. It must look good as a gif as that is how it will be stored on The Forum.

The Forum will now be known as the RickResource Forum and this change in name is to avoid confusion with the Rickenbacker Forum at the official site.

Peter, up to now, you did not change the forum name or any language in the mission statement at the bottom of the page I notice.

I am not being critical, just trying to be helpful.

I have not discussed the matter with John Hall. It just seemed appropriate to me that the Official Site should rightfully have the Rickenbacker Forum name. Especially given the upcoming 75th Anniversary.

This way, there will be less confusion when the Forums are mentioned. I have been meaning to make this change for some time, but I have been busy just trying to iron out bugs with the change to a new server.

I appreciate your interest.

BTW, the Curmudgeon will be judging the designs, in any way he sees fit. Thanks Paul.

Whoops. Guess i'll have to change my "interests" field in my lj user profile. Image
Back to the topic - a few questions.
1. The logo include one of the company products?
2. Pic dimensions?
3. Should the result of one's design work be posted in this thread or sent by e-mail?
4. Should it be a "ready made" design or could it be just an idea?
Cheers,
SC.

Sheena: The "ready made, set to go" logo should be posted in this thread. with its dimensions taken from the main logo and small logo as on the first page of the RickResource Forum. A separate higher definition logo over 36K should be sent to [email protected] and I will forward it to the Curmudgeon. Stay tuned for the prize to be revealed here. The content is up to the designer.

Yes, after 2883 posts, I understand that you are not Sheila. My apology, I should wake up before I post. Original blooper, corrected.

No need to apologize, Peter, it just sounds a bit funny: some people say i "have an awl" in my - eh - behind the back (i.e. burr under my saddle), and Ru for "awl" sounds like [shila] (shilo, in fact, but "o" is reduced to something like "a" in the end of the word). Image
